The two series Apophenia (E.De Martino) and Screen (E.Oddo) are conceptually connected, they silently talk to and stare at each other. The object returns the gaze, suddenly awaken. The human eye reflects itself in natural patterns, consciously losing its subjectivity. Together, the two series express the coexistence of a manifold subjectivity out of human manifestation. The faces coming out of stone, wood, moss, live an existence apart, yet subject to human recognition. In return, the human faces of Screen seem to petrify staring at individual presences. The hierarchy between subject and object, or between subjects, ceases to exist, tied in a compelling astonishment.
